Wise Blood

At its best our age is an age of searchers and discoverers, and at its worst, an age that has domesticated despair and learned to live with it happily. - Flannery O'Connor

it was so strange being there. it's right off the main road of the town she lived in, but is completely isolated. we walked all around the property, and the only thing you can hear from the outside world is the loud speaker from a used car lot across the street. right when you walk inside the house is the bedroom where lived and worked in. her braces leaned against the cabinet. bed still made. walking around the property you can see the places she got the inspiration for her work. the dark line of woods. we saw four deer in about two hours.

Land's End

These are the start of a new series I'm working on. A few weeks back I had the pleasure of meeting the man in the picture at the top, Don. I was shooting outside of a place I had been before when he invited us in for a drink. The Bar, "The Point," is land's end on the Warrior River in Alabama. We sat for hours talking about life, photography, "health" food, and once were jokingly accused of being from ACORN.

I plan to return and document the people and area along the Warrior River over the next year(s).

Black Line of Woods

Stole this from Daniel Shea's blog.
Absolutely loved seeing his work in person.

It's overcast and rainy for what feels like months

Some new work shot in Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia. Still trying to figure out how this all works together, and how to make my camera work all of the time.
Traveling more and more to keep sane.
Meeting lots of stray dogs.
